Sections (Sparten)

Most clubs are several clubs. The Junioren have their own trainer, the Turnen group hires its own hall, and at the AGM somebody always asks what each one cost.

Settings → Sections is where you list them.

Why they live in Settings

A Sparte is a fact about how your club is organised — Junioren and Turnen exist whether or not anybody is doing the books today. So they are set up here rather than inside Finances, and Finances simply uses them.

What they do

Once you have sections, a booking can be assigned to one. The year-end report then breaks down per section, so “what did the Junioren cost” has an answer instead of an argument.

Assigning is optional, per booking. The hall rent for the whole club belongs to no section, and that is a perfectly good answer.

Tip

Keep the list short. Four sections that match how your committee actually talks is more useful than eleven that match the statutes.

If you do not have any

Nothing changes. The section field simply does not appear when you post a booking, and your reports have one column fewer.
